Breaking Bad - S1E4

I have to be honest and admit that I have gotten so into this show that I am already halfway through season 4. Going back to season 1, episode 4, was definitely interesting. It refreshed my memory on how Walt's life changed so quickly. Jesse's life too.

Jesse can't stay away from drugs no matter how hard he tries. However, what he does to Emilio and "Crazy Eight" seems to have a more significant psychological effect on him than the physical effects of the drugs. His hallucinations show his deep paranoia about someone finding out about what happened.
Jesse's parents seem so different from him. they are very conservative and very stern when it comes to breaking the trust of your own family. I personally know a family that is a little bit like that and they had a lot of unhealth in the history of their family before. Although we will probably never get the answer on the show, I wonder what Jesse's life was like with his parents when he was a child.

It is amazing how much Walt has changed in just 4 episodes. He went from being a family-man and a teacher to being a drug manufacturer and murderer. When Walt revealed his medical condition to his family, I could right away see it as an excuse to cover up his newest extracurricular activities. However, I am unsure why he seems to be against the treatment options. I know he is worried about not having the money to pay for it, but he should know that he will be able to make a ridiculous amount of money anyway with his elite level product. I don't think he is very optimistic about how long he will live, which is definitely a contributor to his attitude towards his position.
